Hello! I’m Sophie, the person behind the camera and all things Sophie Siddons Photography.
I absolutely love what I do and it’s strange calling it a ‘job’, because although it is my full time job, shooting weddings and running my business it’s what I love to do. I thrive off of it. I’ve loved all things weddings ever since since Ben and I got married in 2017. We married at The Ashes wedding barns in Staffordshire which I’ve also had the pleasure to do back to shoot their too.
I shot my first wedding in 2017 for a friend and I’ve have never looked back. I know it sounds a little cliché but I’ve always loved photography. My first big purchase as a teenager was a camera! I’m a self taught photographer with some mentoring on the business side along the way. I’ll write another blog on how I started my business because I feel it would be a long one!
Some facts about me:
I’m an identical twin. We are VERY identical, although I’m slightly taller and yes, I don’t let her forget it, just like how she doesn’t let me forget she’s 6 minutes older. So if you see me out shopping or on a walk and wave and I don’t wave back, I’m not ignoring you! It’s probably Amy wondering if she knows you or if you think she’s me. She works in a theatre teaching children and is also writer, I’m super proud of her. She’s written a musical called The Jury, with her friend Ashley that has been on at a theatre in the North West and down in London too. We’re both pretty creative!
I was a bride before I was a photographer. I know exactly how it feels planning a wedding. It’s a little overwhelming and a lot to take in! But I promise the wedding industry is full of wonderful, helpful people that can help you make your day what you want it to be.
I’m a dog mum! We adopted Toby the beagle a few months after we got married. We rescued him from Beagle Welfare who specialise in rehoming beagles, they do some fantastic work. He is playful, mischievous, naughty but more than anything, loving. If you’ve had a stressful day, not feeling well or just want a cuddle he’s already under the blanket waiting (he is currently curled up snoring away next to me).
I love the out doors. Walking in the Peak District is my favourite. Well, anywhere with a good view! For my hen do I requested glamping, personally camping is good for me but I had to think of my friends who aren’t so out ‘doorsy’. There were camp fires, marshmallows and prosecco, everyone enjoyed it.
I hope you feel you know me a little more now! If you’d like to get in touch to check availability pop over to the get in touch page, I look forward to hearing more about your wedding plans!
I'll reply within 48hours! Please check your junk mail.
