I know, weddings can cost a lot of money. The venue, the catering, the dress, the suits, the hair, the make up, the photographer, the cake, the music and all the personalising. It can all add up quickly, but I promise it’s definitely worth having a professional there to capture your day. There is a photographer for every couple, no matter what your plans are for your day, from an intimate ceremony to inviting everyone you know.
Here are some of the reasons you should put some of your budget aside to hire a professional photographer…
You’ve seen our portfolios, you know our style and what to expect with your wedding day in regards to your photography. You also know we have done this before. Your wedding day is important and things can happen on your wedding day such as timing changes, weather issues and other situations that we can handle that could throw someone off if they haven’t got experience.
There are reasons why professional photographers specialise in wedding photography. One reason is because we love weddings. With one wedding booking comes many long days and we wouldn’t do it if we didn’t love it! Not only are we shooting your wedding day but the prepping before and the editing after takes a lot of time. We love talking about your day and will get excited with you. I have couples in the run up come to chat to me about their day rather than going to family and friends because they don’t seem to share the excitement in the same way. Trust me, I’ll be your cheerleader on the run up to your wedding day!
If you hire someone who has little to no experience it does mean more work for you. Before your day a professional will ask all the right questions which means we can capture your day whilst your enjoy being newly married. You know we will be on time and be prepared. You know how we photograph a wedding and the time frame you’ll receive your photographs. Can you be confident with the person you’ve chose and can they deliver? I know we all have to start somewhere to get into wedding photography but this isn’t something you should put on yourself to help with, this puts your wedding photos at risk.
When a family or friend offers to photograph your wedding it can be so tempting to save some £££. Weddings are very full on and you have to know more than just how to use a camera. Here are some questions to ask your self if you’re considering accepting a friend or family members offer…
Wedding photography is an investment. Remember, after you’ve said “I do”, eaten the cake and danced the night away, your photos are something special to hold on to, to relive those memories. Enjoy the wedding planning process and your day by choosing someone you can trust to work with you from the day you book all the way through to the day you receive your wedding photos.
